Judgement, Wisdom and Happiness
Often times we sit in a place of judgment, I mean how can we live a fulfilling life if we don’t judge things and people properly? I used to think I needed this judgment to help me make the right decisions, what mate to choose, what job is better suited to me, what house should I buy, should I be friends with this person, are they a good person? Would I do things the same way, would I make the same choices? Well no, but that is the beauty!
This path of judgment vs the path of wisdom… over the years I have seen how my own judgments have cost me a great deal and kept me feeling down and low. It was that little voice inside that told me that it is not kind, nice, compassionate or loving… who do you think you are?
Now, of course, I am not saying not to use wisdom, intelligence and intuition when making life decisions, but there is a difference in weighing the options and coming up with the best solutions for your life and putting things and others down.
A course in miracles says this about judgment:
“Judgement and Love are opposites. From one come all the sorrows of the world. But from the other comes the peace of God Himself.” “Forgiveness looks on sinlessness alone, and judges not. Through this, I come to you. Judgment will bind my eyes and make me blind. Yet Love, reflected in forgiveness here, reminds me..."
Judging people feels bad, lowers our vibration and is a recipe for unhappiness. So maybe for today notice your thoughts and see how much you're judging other people and then notice how you feel afterward. Actually when we get in touch with our deeper emotions and work to release whatever bad feelings are behind our judgements then we are on the path to healing.
The first step in changing a bad behavior is to become aware of it.
